Description
Heather View is a three-bedroom cottage set in the village of Threlkeld, near Keswick, in the northern Lake District. Threlkeld is a small village situated at the foot of Blencathra which is a popular walk.
The cottage can accommodate up to 6 adults in 3 bedrooms. There are 2 double bedrooms one with en-suite shower room with walk in shower, WC and wash basin also a spacious twin bedroom. There is a large family bathroom that’s just been fully refurbished, with bath and overhead shower, a washbasin and WC.
There is a separate dining room with ample seating for 6 people with views overlooking Blencathra. The lounge is just across the hallway with woodburning stove; ample seating for 6 people; TV & DVD player and views across to Blencathra Fell. Free WiFi is provided.
The kitchen is well equipped with oven and hob, large fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a separate utility room with washer and dryer and space to put your bikes and walking gear. Heather View is fully central heated.
Guests are able to enjoy the peaceful garden in which the cottage is set and take in the views – there are table and chairs. There is private parking in the garden for up to 4 cars.
Heather View is ideally located for those looking for a picturesque base in which to explore the northern fells straight from the cottage. Keswick is only a 5 minute drive away with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, you can walk to Keswick from Threlkeld via the old railway lines. Keswick golf club is just up the road.
The property is situated in Threlkeld Village just three miles from Keswick. Threlkeld is located at the foot of Blencathra looking towards St John's in the Vale. Positioned just off the A66 and fifteen minutes drive from J40 of the M6, this is an ideal base for not only exploring the Lake District but also for days out to the Eden Valley and Carlisle.
The village has two pubs and also one at Scales nearby were you can enjoy a drink or a traditional pub meal. Other amenities include a Post Office and newsagents, along with a children's playground.
Heather View is a great base for those who enjoy walking where you can walk out of the garden straight onto the fells. In fact there are plenty of opportunities for walking from ascents up Blencathra and Skiddaw to lovely low level and riverside walks the village is also an ideal base for all types of Leisure activities including golf with Keswick Golf Club nearby, along with water sports at Ullswater and Derwentwater which are both easily accessible.

Keswick is a market town in Cumbria, England. It is in the Lake District National Park just north of Derwent Water and within a few miles of Braithwaite and Threlkeld and is one of over one hundred towns and villages in Cumbria in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest cities are Carlisle (population 71,773), Lancaster (population 45,952), and Liverpool (which has a population of 469,017 according to the 2001 Census).
With its location near Derwent Water Keswick has become known as the home of the modern Theatre by the Lake. It holds various repertoire and festivals continuing the tradition the Cadbury Theatre summer season productions (a once mobile theatre that found a more permanent home at Keswick for many years, but which is now located at Snibston Discovery Park in Leicestershire).
Keswick represents an ideal location to stay in for any holiday to the Lake District, with all the major lakes and mountains within close range.
